Back Office Medical Assistants/Triage
Virginia Ponce, Rosie Ramirez and Mary Ballard
These busy folks
work to assist and extend our practitioners, permitting them to focus directly upon patient care. Since 2003, (Virginia
at right with her granddaughter) known affectionately as "Grandma," has worked hard
to make each visit to SBP loving, warm and welcoming for our patients and their families. When she's not in direct
patient care assisting CPNP Marie Spencer, Rosie Ramirez mans our Triage phones, and is often the helpful voice parents reach
when contacting our office; she seeks to understands each patient's needs and match it with our SBP team resources.
Multi-talented Medical Assistant Mary Ballard covers Triage and also work with her colleagues to
assist and extend our health care practitioners. We're blessed by having a strong back-up support staff as well. When college
students Korina Maldonado and Laura Correa, CMA, may often be found lending a hand in our back office. Violet
Lopez, LVN (above with daughter, Bella), also pitches in when she can find the time. Each of these ladies
are busy mothers themselves; many started working with us through specialized internship training programs.
Cristina Valderrama, along with Laura and Virginia serve as bi-lingual staff helping to make each visit
as comfortable as possible. Se habla espanol.

Business Services Coordinator Deborah Badger
Returning to SBP's fold in the fall of 2009, Deborah Badger and Liz Diaz bring over
20 years' combined experience in SBP's front desk, billings and collections service, to serve as our on-site business,
billing and insurance claim department. In contrast to other offices, we are happy to provide a complete on site Business
Office with personalized billing, insurance claim and account collections management. This extra effort means that
Liz, Deborah and their team work wholeheartedly to assure that your child's care is billed promptly and correctly,
with timely follow-up with insurers. In this way, SBP can focus upon its primary mission: providing excellent health
care. With three sons and grandchildren to boot, Deborah has for years somehow found time to volunteer at our county's Pet
Friends chapter. She's often to be found providing a calm word and friendly pat to the cats and dogs awaiting adoption.

Sandra Esparza, Business Services Sergeant; Front Office Sergeants Serena Costanza and Allyson Dana
Sandra Esparza, MA brings many years' experience on the SBP business services team to her role as Business Services Sergeant.
Working closely with Front Office Sergeants Allyson Dana and Serena Costanza, along with Business Services Lead Liz Diaz and
Coordinator Deborah Badger, Sandra's winning welcome and keen knowledge of health care insurances and accounts helps
assure that accounts are current, requests for payment are clear and professional, and families can rest easy knowing that
SBP is doing everything possible to assist them in meeting their financial obligations. A mother of three, Sandra
also manages to volunteer her time to many worthy local causes.
