What is preferred registration?
Families with children one year of age or younger OR with a pregnant mother will receive preferred
registration. This is simply because children under age one year require the most well child care.
Why a screening interview?* We
will wish to understand your child(ren) and their health care needs and history. In this way, we can assure that San Benito
Pediatrics, PC is the best medical home for your child(ren). Some children's health care needs may best be met elsewhere;
each case is unique.
Who should my child see for care while we wait?
In the meantime, we strongly recommend you maintain your relationship with your child(ren)'s current health care provider.
They know your child(ren), and will be the best practitioner for any urgent health care needs.
Why should we join the SBP patient care family? Once
you enter the SBP family, you'll enjoy access to:
- highly skilled and experienced pediatric medical practitioners and staff
- skilled telephone advice as appropriate
- parenting, breastfeeding and family education resources
- EdMedics: comprehensive medical and educational diagnostic assessments and prescriptive
interventions (additional registration materials must be completed for this service, which includes patients with
ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning challenges and other related conditions; see www.edmedics.org)
- after hours telephone support
- in-hospital care
How long will we wait? We will work
hard to swiftly process application materials, and to schedule your child for any needed care as soon as possible.
What insurers will you accept for new patients?
We accept new patients with most insurances. At this time, we cannot accept new patients who participate in the State Medi-Cal,
Anthem Blue Cross Medi-Cal programs.
What's rules or guidelines might be new or
different at SBP? We promise you our best. For our part, we ask that you
- let us know of concerns or health care needs early (vs. late) in the day--so that we can
meet those needs promptly
- arrive on time (15 minutes' late is a missed appointment, which incurs a $50 fee)
- cancel appointments with at least 24 hours' advance notice (and pay a $50 missed appointment
fee otherwise); if you have many last minute cancellations, it may be a sign that SBP is not the right practice for your family
- agree to follow care recommendations OR to let us know if you cannot
- provide current and accurate information, including insurance, address, contact numbers
- meet your financial obligations, if any, immediately--at the time of service. That's copays,
deductibles, co-insurance, Vaccine Program Registration fees. No exceptions.
- recognize that we schedule visits carefully to address your child's health care needs;
sometimes this means that several visits may be necessary in order to cover all the important issues of your child's life.
You're on your way to the health care your child desires--and deserves.
Don't delay!
